When we use materials more than once, we emit less C02, pollute the air less and damage our aquatic environment less. That's why it's important to us that our products are sorted so they can be used again.
Cardboard from boxes
Cardboard can be used again and again when it is sorted. You can take it to the recycling centre, put it in the cardboard container or put it in the paper compartment of the recycling bin.
The lid for the boxes
The lid for the boxes is made from Amorphous Polyethylene Terephthalate (A-PET), which comes from the PET family. PET can be recycled again and again and into many different products. Maybe the lid from the box will become a sleeping bag, a part for the car or maybe your new fleece sweater for winter. At the recycling centre, you can dispose of it under hard plastics.
Beads and squares in the boxes
All the beads and squares in the boxes are made of polyethylene. Polyethylene can have a new life if it is sorted properly at the recycling centre. Here it is remelted, ready for a new life. Ask at the recycling centre if you are unsure how to sort the beads.
Our pegboards is made of Polycarbonate (PC). Polycarbonate is not the environment's best friend, so it's extra important that the material is properly sorted when you're done using them. The material can be recycled in different ways: if you put the sheets in the residual waste bin, they will be burnt and used to make electricity and heat. If you put them in the plastic bin at the recycling centre, they will be reused and given a new life.
The bead scraper is made of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), which is the same material your Lego bricks are made of. If your scraper breaks or you decide to get rid of it, you can take it to the recycling centre under "other plastics".
